Description

This pack contains an extensive collection of coal wagons from South and Mid Wales as they would have appeared at the very start of the 20th century, being registered with a variety of pre-grouping railway companies. All of the wagons were built by the Gloucester Carriage & Wagon Company and either sold or leased to a variety of collieries and coal traders. The included manual has a detailed list of all liveries too, but these can be seen in the screenshots. By far the most numerous PO wagon, carrying coal from collieries to steelworks, docks and even to coal merchants’ yards at the smallest of branch line stations, these wagons have been made using genuine works photos, and represent two distinct types from GCWC: a 10 ton capacity wagon with diagonal metal bracing on the inside, and a 12 ton capacity wagon with diagonals on the outside. Where possible, a range of prototypical numbers was entered in the csv file. GCWC and railway company registration plates have been omitted on all wagons, it was hard enough to research more obvious details about the wagons, let alone find out what numbers they were allocated. Research materials were obtained from authors Keith Turton, Keith Montague, the HMRS archives, and the Lightmoor Press website.

Pack features:

  • 10 ton 7 plank wagon variant
  • 12 ton 7 plank wagon variant

  • Multiple variants for each private owner where relevant, including different lettering, wagon design, etc
