Description
For the second pack of Gloucester-built PO wagons, we move down south to London and even further to the channel coast. There was as much of a need for coal here than anywhere else in the country, but a lack of coal fields meant that it had to be carried all the way from South Wales or the Midlands to heat homes, power factories and provide Ocean Liners with the necessary fuel to cross the Atlantic. I therefore advise you to read the ‘Empty to’ instructions on the side of the wagons where possible, some of them might have run in the same train as the ones in the South Wales pack! The included manual has a detailed list of all liveries too, but these can be seen in the screenshots. All wagons in this pack have inside diagonals and a carrying capacity of 10 tons, but there numerous detail differences between them, such as the number of planks, end doors, hinged top planks and even axleboxes. Where possible, a range of prototypical numbers was entered in the csv files. Research materials were obtained from authors John Arkell, Simon Turner, Keith Montague, the HMRS archives, and the Lightmoor Press website.
